We get asked about this all the time, so here is brief explanation of the security properties of the content app format. The CertiVox Secure Content App Format is analogous to a virtual hard disk in so far as it has a similar structure and purpose.
In the CertiVox Secure Content App format the targeted documents and media are the disk, the authentication/authorisation block is the boot sector, the metadata is the file system and the manifest is the disk blocks.
The analogy is relevant because this is a flexible and robust way of securing and retrieving the file data. Because the secure content app can hold more than one physical file or hidden pages, these are analogous to sub folders and access control lists.
There is however, no direct physical mapping between the CetiVox format and a virtual hard disk, it's purely logical as the content and the structures we use are randomized and encrypted inside the secure content app, a major innovation in data leak prevention and data accountability.
